The Power of Silence

The forever gift

“Silence is a source of great strength.” – Lao Tzu

We are all inundated with so much noise on a daily basis. From Information, social media, and the news to personal routines, family responsibilities, and leisure activities, there is an overwhelming need to verbally communicate with others and to receive information as well.

Silent meditation as a daily practice has many benefits. Silence can improve your focus, increase creativity, relieve stress, calm the senses, improve the immune system, lower blood sugar, grow new brain cells and improves heart health amongst many other benefits. (source, Psychcentral). When I first began Silent Healing in my own life, it began with a consistent desire to go into nature and to connect with myself. The first benefit that I noticed was a great deal of increased self awareness.

In reference to healing, what I personally experienced is that the less “noise” I had in my environment, the easier it was for me to identify what my needs were. Sometimes we feel the need to even have white noise, so we can have better focus. Although white noise is beneficial to support focus in the brain’s auditory center, intentionally participating in complete silence allows us to become more aware of our own inner voice. and the inner voice will get louder, be prepared.

Dealing with the inner voice can be a challenge for many that are looking to practice meditation and mindfulness. The reality is , the more that we struggle with our inner voice, the louder and more enticing it will get. To observe the voice instead, can create a safe amount of space for reflection so through metacognition, you can create the space for introspection and healing in a more sustainable way. You can take this practice with you wherever you may go.

I’m aware that everyone that has been silent specifically at Silent Healing, will walk away with a very unique experience, however there are some notable connections that have been shared amongst many in the Silent Healing tribe.

Initially, due to the healing sounds playing in the background, you are given the space to get comfortable. There are no extensive rules or teachings at this event. The only rule is to not speak. With the freedom of choice, you are able to curate your personal experience to what you believe you need. Some will journal, or practice yoga, take a nap, listen to music, eat, stretch, or just breathe. Within the time we share together, communication happens without words, and that can be healing in itself. Language is not needed. Titles and occupations are left at the door. Introverts and extroverts are able to exist without judgement or need to show up in any particular way. This freedom is felt in a very peaceful and inviting way. The barriers to any current realizations will now have the space to fall away and make room for answers to arrive.

Silence truly connects us all. At this event, you are welcomed to receive whatever you need.

Looking forward to sharing Silence with you. Until spirit says so…
